Happy Birthday “The Open Door!”

Three years ago today, The Open Door was unleashed upon the world. It debuted with 775,000 copies worldwide after having leaked over a month before it’s release. Even though it didn’t match the sales of “Fallen,” never had an album impacted me as much it did.

If you have time, post a comment mentioning how The Open Door has impacted you.

The first time i heard evanescence, it was Going under, on the fallen album. it changed my life forever :) everything amy wrote seemed to make so much sense to me, like i could relate to everything she said. then when the open door was finally released, it was just as amazing. it is by far my favourite album i have ever bought :D

3 years today, gosh time absolutely flies by….

The open door was the first album that I was truly excited over getting, as well as the first album I ever pre-ordered from amazon. ‘Like you’ and ‘Lacrymosa’ were (and still are) the most inspirational songs I have ever heard, I can’t create a playlist without putting both on….

It seriously changed a lot of things for me! The lyrics of almost all the songs resonated so much with what was going on with me at the time, and not only helped me get through it, but also understand what exactly i was going through! I’ll never forget the day i bought the copy of TOD at the store….wow…what a moment!!!
